A TOAST!!

A TOAST!!

Entry 1.

For the 1st entry, I wanted to celebrate everyone who's been ride or die with my project up until now, I salute you. I also want to introduce ourselves to all our new friends we're making along the way.  You're part of the  GIMME SYNDICATE now, because you subscribe to a different frequency than all the rest, and we see you.  W

I thought it would be good to do a little throwback post for our first entry, to shamelessly show off a bit, but also to raise a glass to new things to come. It's been a long and educational road to say the least. You may or may not be aware but I've had my hand in the menswear clothing business for many different "trend setting" brands through the years, and in the background always had my own little fun project going on, but never was able to give it the proper TLC it needed to really stand tall in the market place amongst other giants with more resources at their side. Maybe we can go down that road later in another entry, for now lets check out some OG tees and let's take a walk down memory lane. THE GIMME PROJECT has a long rich heritage that I am very proud of.

For those who have been here all these years you may remember some fun collaborations we did from time to time w/ different brands and companies. This was a time when this was somewhat unheard of, nowadays the "collab" game is a huge part of "street wear" branding and co promoting, but THE GIMME PROJECT was an early proponent for working across different platforms and genres of music, collectable vinyl, Graffiti, etc etc.

Maybe you just found us and got curious, a result of our recent $25 Million dollar ad campaign rolled out on Easter Sunday. Maybe you're one of our completely organic 700 million new followers on social media. That would be money well spent. Maybe you're one of the lucky civilians who got rained on with our 18 karat Gold leaflet campaign, dropped from our floating 💩 meme blimp over the super ball half time show. WHATEVER it was that got you here, you're HERE and that's all that matters.

History? oh don't get me started.....

In 2005 Mr Ewok One collaborated with http://toy2r.com/  to design a 3 inch tall limited edition collectable named "EGGWOK" ( for obvious reasons ).

The "Gimme" edition of "EGGWOK", was in rare form for this class of 05' yearbook photo.  These are still out there in the world but are becoming increasingly harder and harder to find.

2005: Hide your wallets, hide your gold, hide your Ameros!  This was a 2005 release in collaboration with the then KIDROBOT CEO  Paul Budnitz . At the time, the homie Tristan Eaton had asked me to do a customized "KR Mascot"  for a summer Art exhibit he curated in Brooklyn. I created this take on their company mascot, I popped the head off, flipped his torso backward, painted his head and body, put the head back on with a robbers stocking and he was ready to go. They liked the final result so much so they decided to squeeze him into their production line right in between their edition 6, and in front of their pre planned edition 7. Becoming their only "6.5 edition".  These are also out there in the resell world from time to time and if you're able to get your hands on him you'd be a lucky SOB. This was released in edition of I believe 300(?) and had a release party event in the original KID ROBOT flag ship store in Soho where we brought the house down and of course the police showed up crying about all the history being made.

And since we're going way way back, why not pull out some of the original tees from the archives? Check out that original HORSELINGTON is a weird Green color way, 😆 WTH was I thinking? You can also see a very early Hammerhead version of my "SHARKLINGTON" on the bottom Tee and a later evolved, but still not yet settled SHARKLINGTON as we all know him today, in all his glory.  Dates for these  I believe came out around 2004-2006. Good luck finding any of these out in the world, you will not find these ( in good shape anyway).  But I have been alerted of lucky thrift store finds from time to time that absolutely blows my mind, and if you DO have one of these kinds of stories, be damn sure to send us a pic on Instagram so we can share it with the rest of the syndicate.

Below are some things that may or may have not eventually made it into the line through the years, as well as just some sketchy ideas in books etc. I came across some of these while digging thru archives...

hope you enjoyed this walk down memory lane, more to come as we're just getting started again here. stay t00ned. 🤘
